Latino Heritage Month Kicks Off With A Celebration from Contemporary Latino Artists & Designers
The first day of Latino Heritage Month is set to be filled with contemporary nail art, fine jewelry, and otherworldly visuals that inspire, and delight.
Adornment and Theory will host a party to celebrate the drop of new merch and jewelry. This is the birth child of a collaboration between several multidisciplinary Chicago-based Latino creatives: Chicago's favorite nail artist Ashley Crowe @AstroWifey, fine jewelry designer, Viviana Langhoff @vivianalanghoffdesigns, and graphic designer, Daniel Delgado @ricanfx, and all modeled by Serena Madrigal of @_espinas.
The collaboration merch drop kicks off the first day Latino Heritage Month, September 15th. "We wanted to create a collaboration highlighting each of our creative mediums. Showcasing what Latinos contribute culturally in contemporary art & design in the city of Chicago," says Viviana Langhoff, owner of Adornment and Theory and one of the spotlighted creatives and organizers of the event. “Visibility has long been a barrier to deeper connectivity, knowledge exchange, and cross cultural community building, especially in a city like Chicago which has a long well documented history of sequestering its inhabitants. The three of us each have a vibe that says, welcome to the party, no matter where you are in the city or what your walk of life has been."
Open to the public, attendees receive an enriching shopping experience aimed to spotlight and support Latino creators and cultural legacy builders. Additionally, the event will feature:
